Abstract: Following devolvement of extra powers to Scotland, the Scottish Government requires a Contractor or Contractors to provide employment support services in Scotland.
The employability support service contracts will commence in April 2018 and run continuously for 3 years, with the possibility of a contract extension for up to two further years.
It is anticipated that the level of resource available to deliver the new service in Scotland could be up to circa GBP90m, subject to final agreement with the UK Government and decisions by Scottish Ministers.

The service is being designed to assist disabled people or people claiming reserved benefits (i.e. Jobseekers Allowance; Universal Credit; and Employment Support Allowance) who are at risk of long-term unemployment to select, obtain and retain employment; and assisting employers to obtain suitable employees from the people referred to above.

It is anticipated that service delivery will be divided in to lots. The number and structure of the lots is still being considered. Our initial proposals will be discussed at the Supplier information awareness events planned for November/December 2016 – see Section VI: Complementary Information.

This Corrigendum Notice is being issued to gauge the potential interest from Suppliers in attending additional Supplier Awareness Events in Aberdeen and the south of Scotland (location to be confirmed). The Scottish Government has arranged Supplier Awareness Events in Glasgow (28 November 2016); Inverness (29 November 2016) and Edinburgh (1 December 2016). Due to the high level of interest in the new Scottish Employability Support Services, we are considering hosting an additional two events, the contents of which will be the same as the first three. If you are interested in attending an event in either Aberdeen or the south of Scotland, please email Steven.Gulland@gov.scot no later than 12 December 2016.
