The Council requires a single supplier Framework Agreement for the Provision of an Employee Cycle to Work Scheme.

The Council’s Scheme will be open to employees of:

the Council (estimated 18,428 employees)

Lothian Valuation Joint Board (estimated 120 employees)

SESTran (estimated 8 employees)

Scheme usage/uptake cannot be guaranteed.

The successful supplier with be expected to market the service to employees and supply a variety of bicycles and associated accessories.

Bicycles provided must conform to Conform to European CEN Standards, The Pedal Bicycles (Safety) Regulations 2010 (formerly BS6102) (our equivalent)

be fitted with a bell to ISO 7636:1984 standards (our equivalent);

where the brakes are intended to be hand operated, the brake lever; intended to be operated by the right hand must operate the front brake and the brake lever intended to be operated by the left hand must operate the rear brake

White or yellow reflectors on both sides of each wheel or tyre;

A red wide-angle rear reflector;

factors front and rear on each pedal;

and be collected or delivered with bell fitted and have brakes fully adjusted in accordance with the manufacturers specifications.
