28/02/2019 16:44Clarification - Bidder Questions

1. The individuals who currently erect and dismantle the stalls etc - is their an opportunity for them to continue their role?

A. An external company and not the Council currently undertakes this role, therefore the successful Market Operator would have to negotiate this directly if they wish to retain this service.

2. Is their toilet facilities for stallholders and staff nearby?

A. Yes there are public toilets in the Overgate Shopping Centre, as well as cafes and restaurants nearby.

3. How would the cost of each car parking space be dealt with? We would bo looking to reserve and pay for spaces rather than put the onus on stallholders and staff?

A. There is public parking available at various Dundee City Council and private car parks in the city centre. The nearest Council car park facility to City Square on a Saturday is that in the Underground Garage (off Crichton Street) for which the charge is currently £6 per parking space. The Underground Garage is administered by Dundee City Council Licensing Department who could be approached for block bookings.

4. Will the market need to be branded as Dundee Farmers' Market or can it be changed to (say) Angus Farmers' market?

A. The market would require to be branded a Dundee event.

5. Is there a requirement to retain all stallholders who currently attend Dundee farmers' market? Angus Farmers' market supports stallholders from Angus and immediate neighbouring counties so there would be a conflict with anyone who is from say Glasgow or Edinburgh.

A. The successful Market Operator will be supplied with a list of traders from Dundee City Council who have/would like to trade at future Dundee's Farmers' Market, however there is no contractual requirement. Your Tender Proposal should outline your market product offering.
