04/03/2010 20:13Clarification Question Responses

Please find the following responses to clarification questions submitted: Q1. Could you provide further information on what we require to provide in terms of assisting passengers with limited mobility not on tour? Response: Passengers with limited mobility who are unable to utilise the shuttle bus service should make their own transport arrangements into town; the meet and greet service will be required to call a taxi for this purpose. There is no official requirement for the Port Authority to provide this service. Q2. What type of taxi service is required? Response: Historically taxis arrive on the pier on spec. It is suggested that the meet and greet service may advise taxi services the day before of the port call and timings; fares cannot however be guaranteed. Q3. Do you have an indication as to the likely number of leaflets/maps that may be required? Response: It is anticipated that 30,000 cruise ship passengers will arrive this year plus 10,000 crew. Approximately 60% of passengers (18,000) will take a tour. Of the remaining 12,000 passengers it is anticipated that the leaflet ratio would be 1:3 passengers. A print run of approximately 5,000 would be appropriate. Any remaining print may also be used for the 2011 season.
