Abstract: ORE Catapult has a requirement for an Information Service Framework to provide application development support and generic hosting services and support (the “Service”).
The Service will be utilised as and when required, on a call-off basis by ORE Catapult in Glasgow and Blyth.
The ORE Catapult will be involved in a range of highly technical and geographically diverse projects and programmes which will generate substantial information and data. As such, it is vital that it has appropriate and fit for purpose application development services to support the delivery and management of projects, and which are capable of supporting growth in the business.
All ORE Catapult systems currently reside on MicroSoft SQL server platform with MicroSoft.net-based front-end applications and any subsequent solutions shall need to be compatible with this current set-up.
The tender process seeks to establish a framework for the delivery and support of information systems to support ORE Catapult internal and external stakeholders. The process may appoint a number of Contractor/s with the necessary breadth and depth of skills and experience to successfully deliver our Information Systems and Knowledge Management agenda.
The duration of this Information Service Framework will be for a period of two (2) years with the option to extend the duration for up to a further twenty four (24) months, at the sole discretion of the ORE Catapult and subject to satisfactory performance of the Contractor/s.
The Service is divided into Lots.

ORE Catapult is in the process of undertaking a review of its ICT requirements and has subsequently recognised there to be a cross over between this Information Services Framework, a Communications Services Framework (already awarded)and an ICT framework due to be published in the next 6 months - a PIN will be issued today (16 Jan 15) to clarify the scope of the ICT Framework, which will include Hosting Services. Therefore, this is an notice to amend the Lots for the Information Services Framework as follows: Lot 1 – Application Interface Design (amended) Examples of the capabilities included within this lot are website/application design interfaces and User Experience (UX). LOT 2 - Software configuration (no change) Examples of the capabilities included within this lot are design, implementation and configuration of software components to address individual project requirements e.g. SharePoint. LOT 3: Software Development (no change) Examples of the capabilities included within this lot are Design & development of specific database and software solutions, implementing relevant stages of the software development cycle: - Database design - Application design - Application development (and application development consultancy services) - Application testing - Application documentation - Application training Lot 4: - Generic Hosting Services (now deleted in total) ORE Catapult apologise for any inconvenience caused to suppliers. Due to the change, we have extended the return date for the PQQ's until 1200 hrs on Monday 9 February 2015.
