Webinar Q&A
21/04/2017 13:42Conflict of Interest - WES Controls Systems Call

WES would like to point out that being involved in any of the current WES projects does not preclude bidders from participating in any current tender ie Control Systems R&D Services Call, Control Systems External Experts and NWEC Stage 2 Third Party Advisor (both for Modelling and Engineering Design).

Whilst bidders will be required to state any known or perceived Conflict of Interest/s as part of tender responses, further checks will be undertaken (with the highest ranking bidders and as part of the selection process) when Applicant details for the Call are known. This is to ensure any individual appointed does not have a material Conflict of Interest which could compromise the process and/or would prevent them from making a fair and objective assessment of any application. This should include any interest which may be perceived by others to impact their ability to carry out an impartial assessment of the applications. It should be noted the final decision regarding materiality of a conflict rests with WES.
In addition, as individuals will gain access to information of a confidential nature (including in some situations prior to contracts being in place) WES have put in place robust processes to ensure confidentiality is maintained with individuals applying to be an assessor being required to sign and return a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Undertaking.
